老师
在一个结业典礼上，一位校长致词，说道：
“医生希望自己的孩子成为医生。。。。。。
工程师希望自己的孩子成为工程师。。。。。
商人希望自己的孩子成为总裁。。。。。。。
而一个老师也希望自己的孩子成为教育工作者。。。。。。
然而没有人要选择做老师。。。。令人感到悲哀，但事实却是如此！“
宴会上，圆桌上的来宾在谈论着生命的课题。
一位总裁，提出教育问题，质问大家：“一个选择老师作为他生命事业的孩子，将有什么可学习的呢？”
说完，他转向一位宾客，问道：“Bonnie,你是一位老师，老实说，你做了什么？”
Bonnie，一个忠于职守的老师，回答道：“你要知道我做了什么吗？”
停了一会儿，她继续说：“我激励孩子努力奋发，超越他们想象的极限。
我让一个获取C+的孩子感觉自信，犹如获得荣誉勋衔的胜利者。
我让孩子在班上坐上40分钟，而家长在没有IPod, Game Cube 或影片的协助下，无法让孩子静坐5分钟。
停一停，Bonnie老师注视桌上的每一个人， 再说：“你要知道我做了什么吗？
我令孩子好奇探索。
我令他们发问。
我令他们忏悔道歉。
我让他们懂得尊重以及对他们所做的负责。
我教导他们如何书写以及令他们写。盘键（keyboard）并不能代表一切。
我令他们阅读、阅读、再阅读。
我令他们应用上帝赐予的头脑解答数学难题，而不是人们制作的计算机。
我让来自外国的学生学习所有的英语知识，同时还保存他们独有的文化特质。
我令我的课室成为学生们感觉安全的地方。
最后，我让他们了解如果他们应用所赐予的条件，努力不懈，怀着一颗真诚的心，他们这一生肯定会成功。
当人们尝试以我做了什么来衡量我。。对我而言，金钱不是一切，我会依然昂起头不理会，因为他们是无知的。你们要知道我到底做了什么，是吗？
我令你们每一个的生命不同了，教育孩子成为日后的总裁、医生和工程师等等。。。。。。。

From A School Principal's speech at a graduation..
He said "Doctor wants his child to become a doctor.........
Engineer wants his child to become engineer......
Businessman wants his ward to become CEO.....
BUT a teacher also wants his child to become one of them..!!!!
Nobody wants to become a teacher BY CHOICE" ....Very sad but that's the truth.....!!!
The dinner guests were sitting around the table discussing life.
One man, a CEO, decided to explain the problem with education. He argued,
"What's a kid going to learn from someone who decided his best option in life was to become a teacher?"
To stress his point he said to another guest;
"You're a teacher, Bonnie. Be honest. What do you make?"
Teacher Bonnie, who had a reputation for honesty and frankness replied,
"You want to know what I make?
(She paused for a second, then began...)
"Well, I make kids work harder than they ever thought they could.
I make a C+ feel like the Congressional Medal of Honor winner.
I make kids sit through 40 minutes of class time when their parents can't
make them sit for 5 min. without an I Pod, Game Cube or movie rental.
You want to know what I make?
(She paused again and looked at each and every person at the table)
I make kids wonder.
I make them question.
I make them apologize and mean it.
I make them have respect and take responsibility for their actions.
I teach them how to write and then I make them write.
Keyboarding isn't everything.
I make them read, read, read.
I make them show all their work in math.
They use their God given brain, not the man-made calculator.
I make my students from other countries learn everything they need
to know about English while preserving their unique cultural identity.
I make my classroom a place where all my students feel safe.
Finally, I make them understand that if they use the gifts they
were given, work hard, and follow their hearts, they can succeed in life
( Bonnie paused one last time and then continued.)
Then, when people try to judge me by what I make, with me knowing money isn't everything, I can hold my head up high and pay no attention because they are ignorant. You want to know what I make?
I MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN ALL YOUR LIVES,EDUCATING KIDS AND PREPARING THEM TO BECOME CEO's ,AND DOCTORS AND ENGINEERS..........
What do you make Mr. CEO?
